ABOUT THE FACILITATOR

Li-Leng Au studied acting in London at the Rose Buford School of Speech and Drama and then Physical Theatre at LISPA (London International School of Performing Arts). She has worked internationally as an actor in the UK, Australia, Poland and USA. Her career has seen her working on stage, screen, radio and corporate training. Career highlights have included: originating cast of multi-award winning “My Neighbour Totoro” for the Royal Shakespeare Company; “Arquiem” a pyrotechnic promenade physical theatre show on tour and at the National Theatre (London); “Top Girls” at The Melbourne Theatre Company; “Walk Me!” a devised project for her Sydney based theatre company & “Great Expectations” at the San Jose Stage. She is delighted to be teaching the Bindlestiff acting workshop this year.

CLASS DESCRIPTION

What is the job of the actor? What is your role in the theatre creating process? How do you create characters? How do you look after your instrument and craft? How best to approach auditions and scripts? All these questions and more are covered in this fun and interactive workshop designed to challenge beginner actors and provide experienced actors with some additional tools.

INCOME BASED TUITION:

To make our workshops equitable and accessible we have a sliding scale income-based tuition fee. You will be able to choose your level at checkout.

$40 - recommended for participants with annual income of $25,000 or less

$80 - recommended for participants with annual income of $25,000-45,000

$120 - recommended for participants with annual income of $45,000-70,000

$180 - recommended for participants with annual income of $70,000-$100,000

$300 - recommended for participants with annual income of $100,000 or more

$400 - for participants who would like to support another person to attend this class
